Frequently Asked Questions

Can I park near the studio?

Yes. We can provide you with parking vouchers that allow local parking throughout the area. If you need a base camp for larger productions, we can suggest some nearby spaces that can accommodate you.

How much power does the studio have?

The studio is well equipped with ample power for most shoots - we have a bank consisting of four 16amp outlets, four 32amp outlets and two 3 phase outlets (a 16 and a 32). There's also standard 13amp domestic power points throughout the space.

Are the props included in the cost of hire?

Yes. All the props and furniture are included, so you can use as much or as little as you want according to your needs.

How do we get our kit upstairs?

We have a fully working hoist that can be loaded up with all your kit, props and styling and brought up to the studio.

Do you provide catering?

We don't have in-house catering, but we can recommend companies that provide excellent shoot catering, or local cafés that fit the bill. We also have a full working kitchen that is at your disposal for the shoot day.

What if we want to shoot outside?

The studio has a large, overgrown school yard that is available as a location for a small additional fee. If you want to shoot in the local area,  the building itself is on one of the most unusual streets in London - full of classic Georgian houses, a leafy walkway that runs down the length of the street, and the only blue cobbled street in the city! Tower Hamlets can provide you with permits that allow shooting locally.

Do you have any additional spaces?

Although we do not have any more studios in the school building, there is an additional space that can be hired as a production hub or green room. For more details please contact us.

What are your rates?

Rates vary according to usage, crew size and length of shoot - please contact Josh for a quote and current availability on (+44) 7956 543 683 or email: theoldschoolstudio@icloud.com.
